Cachaça Weber HausWe are proud to announce that Cachaça Weber Haus is the latest addition to the portfolio of The Cachaça Company.
In the Serra Gaúcha, the land of the Brazilian cowboys in Rio Grande do Sul, you find the Weber Haus distillery located near the town of Ivoti. The typical German half-timbered houses already betray the origin of the founders. The cachaça alambique originated from German immigrants who started with the production of cassava and sugar. In 1848, they started as well with the production of cachaça, although initially only for their own consumption.
History alambique Weber HausThe current cachaça distillery dates back to 1948, when a still and a mill, powered by four donkeys, were installed. Still, it took until 1968 before the distillery began to legalize the cachaça production by requesting the necessary permits and started to modernize the distillery. Until 2001, the cachaça was produced under the name of Primavera. To honor the founder of the alambique, Hugo A. Weber, the name was changed to Weber Haus.
Organic cachaçaToday, cachaça Weber Haus is a sustainable distillery. No chemicals are used at any time, the fermentation is 100% natural and the bagaço serves as fuel for the copper pot stills. Weber Haus therefore carries the certificate of "organic cachaça.
Meanwhile, cachaça Weber Haus has become one of the most, if not the most, awarded cachaça producers of Brazil. They gained more than 30 medals at (international) competitions such as the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles or the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Despite the huge success of the brand both in Brazil and outside, Weber Haus remains until this day a family business.
Their portfolio includes an absolutely brilliant one-year aged organic umburana cachaça. The best you will find in the world of cachaça.
